Derrick, who jointly judged the entries with guest judge Sarah Allsebrook, local Patisserie Chef and owner of Frédéric Café Bistro, were both amazed at what home cooks and amateur bakers are producing in their own homes.

Sarah said: “I’m delighted to have been involved in the Online Bake Off, it’s a great initiative to encourage more people into their kitchens.  Congratulations to all that entered, there are so many creative bakers out there, the winners all offered something unique.  For anyone thinking about having a dabble in the kitchen I have just a small tip, don’t rush baking, take your time and the result will be worth every minute, but most importantly have fun with it.”
